Has anyone ventured into the "sequels", yet?

My library has the first one of Sophie Hannah's books available for download, but I don't know if I should? 

I mean, even if I hate it, it will probably only serve to cause a re-read of favourite Poirot stories (and there is nothing wrong with that!), but do I really want to risk it and try the book given my issues with pastiche fiction?
