So, this makes no sense:


Edie went to the castle knowing that her mother was billeted there with the Blythe sisters during the war. And yet, she is shocked to the core when one of the elderly sisters (who seems to have some form of dementia) mistakes her for her mother?


I mean, for Edie to be called by her mom's name should not have been such a surprise...since her mom getting a letter from one of the sisters is literally the reason for Edie's being at the castle.
