The Blackbirder - Dorothy B. Hughes

Well, this is excellent so far.

 

It's nothing at all like The So Blue Marble, which is a huge relief. It's more like North by Northwest, but much like The Expendable Man the story strikes a tone that is very scary and very relevant still...even tho this one deals with a completely different issue and plays against the backdrop of refugees / "illegal" immigrants during WWII.

This is not a spoiler, the book makes this clear from the first pages.
