Reading progress update: I've read 212 out of 493 pages.

Dracul (Stoker's Dracula #1) - J.D. Barker, Dacre Stoker

There can be a fine line between writing that is evocative and writing that is gimmicky. 


The first part of the book was definitely an example of the former, while this part, unfortunately, seems to be an example of the latter. 

And I have also discovered that I prefer the story being told from Matilda's point of view, not that of the brothers.


Btw, we just met Gary Oldman appearing in his Dracula character in a similar scene that is in the film...except we're in Dublin, not London, and Gary (or his equivalent character) is following Thornley, not Mina.
