Orkney - the non-bird post
Hi,
Just a quick note to say that I am back from holiday.
As expected, I did not get to read much but I did have a lot of fun, and, as promised, there are some pictures at the end of this post.
After the last post, I realised I may have caused some confusion.......I always expect an adventure on the scale of a Hobbit's trip to Mordor, and so I posted a picture which came close to the image I had in mind for that adventure. Of course, the image was of Skye, but the landscape of many places around here will actually fit the image of a gloomy landscape.... Anyways, Skye was a previous trip some years ago. This year's adventure took me and a couple of friends to Orkney, where we found ourselves knee-deep in archaeological sites - literally. One of my friends is an archaeology student and we found ourselves an archaeologist as a guide. Well, what can I say, ... it was different.
